Storm Ideas are a specialist digital agency working on a daily basis with large, globally recognised clients in the US TV industry. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated in-house IT Support Engineer to take overall responsibility for the company’s IT systems via day-to-day support, ongoing improvements and implementation of IT strategy.


Founded in 2008, Storm Ideas are an Edinburgh-based team that deliver pioneering digital solutions for some incredible clients all over the world, particularly in the US TV industry. You’ll be working in a fast paced, exciting and fun environment in the recently refurbished Sugar Bond House in Bonnington.


As the company’s sole dedicated IT support engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Taking ownership of the performance of the company’s IT, reporting directly to the Technical Director
  • Supporting 30+ staff by responding to and resolving day-to-day hardware and software issues
  • Implementing one-off IT projects commissioned by the Technical Director
  • New PC and hardware setup and configuration
  • Executing and improving user administration processes
  • Administering Azure AD, Azure, Office 365 and other cloud services
  • Scheduling and performing upgrades to both hardware and software
  • Preventing or detecting and removing viral malware
  • Monitoring and maintenance of backups, replication and network infrastructure
  • Procuring hardware and software as per the needs of the company and staff
  • Maintaining the asset registry


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A 2:1 Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an IT-related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year’s IT support work experience, but would consider a trainee with solid technical knowledge
  • Passion for IT as a career with a thirst to grow and develop your knowledge
  • Methodical troubleshooting skills and initiative
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload and complete tasks to deadlines
  • Awareness of the latest IT security standards
  • Self-motivation, pro-activity and ease with working unsupervised on your own
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An approachable nature to colleagues

The ideal candidate would also have experience working with the following:

  • PCs, Laptops and Windows OS
  • Printer administration
  • iOS and Android phones
  • Networks
  • Cloud services, including Azure and Office 365

Employment Type

Permanent. Full-Time or Part-Time. Potential for remote working with set hours in the office each week.



£20-26k per annum.
