Founded in 2008, Storm Ideas are an Edinburgh-based team that work daily with some incredible clients all over the world, particularly in the US TV industry. You’ll be working with other smart and enthusiastic people in a fast paced and exciting environment, located in the recently refurbished Sugar Bond House in Bonnington.

You will be:

  • Coordinating and performing manual QA
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Writing and maintaining test plans
  • Working with developers to improve automated testing
  • Spotting things that others miss
  • Analyzing problems to reach the root cause

Eventually we'd like you to:

  • work with developers to improve our Continuous Integration approach
  • be able to communicate with our clients' QA teams effectively
  • evaluate automated testing tools and be able to find their place in our organisation
  • train and mentor other future members of our QA team


Candidates will be required to have:

  • experience with the Git version control system
  • experience with Continuous Integration systems, preferably Azure DevOps
  • experience with cloud hosting platforms, preferably Azure
  • experience working using Agile software development practices
  • experience performing software testing including functional and regression testing
  • the ability to author and execute manual test plans
  • experience with tools used for API testing, preferably Postman
  • a strong understanding of software testing methodology
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with others
  • excellent attention to detail

The ideal candidate would also have:

  • an ISEB or ISTQB certification
  • a degree in IT, Electronics, Computing, Physics or related discipline
  • an active Github profile with involvement in open source projects
  • coding proficiency in one or more languages, preferably Javascript, C#/.NET or SQL
  • experience using test frameworks to create and execute automated test scripts for example, Selenium, Cypress or WebDriver

£20 - £25k per annum.
