Who We Are/
About the Role
We're hiring an AI-First Product Designer to design and ship thoughtful product improvements across Storm's products.
You'll own well-scoped problems from initial framing through wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and shipped release β staying close to the work rather than handing over a static design and moving on.
Storm is an AI-native company, so you'll use AI coding assistants, design tools, APIs, and rapid prototyping environments to turn ideas into working experiences quickly and test real interactions early.
Strong product design craft still comes first. You'll combine interaction design, visual design, product thinking, and clear UX writing with an AI-first way of building and iterating.
About Storm Ideas
Founded in 2008, Storm Ideas is an international team working with globally recognised clients, particularly across the US TV and entertainment industry.
Our work sits at the intersection of media, technology, creativity, and operations. We build products, produce content at scale, design smarter ways for clients and internal teams to work, and keep looking for new ways to improve how the company operates.
We are a remote-first, fast-moving company with established clients, a growing team, and a strong appetite for better tools, better systems, and better ways of working. AI is central to how we operate β every team, every role, this one included.
What Youβll Make Happen/
This role will provide you with the opportunity to:
- Design and ship end-to-end: own small, well-scoped product improvements from problem framing through wireframes, high-fidelity UI and shipped release β not handing off a static file and walking away.
- Prototype with AI, not just for it: use AI coding assistants and design tooling to go from idea to working prototype in hours, so we test real interactions instead of debating static mockups.
- Write the words as well as the pixels: prompts, system messages, empty states, microcopy and model-facing instructions are part of the design surface here.
- Solve real customer problems: collaborate with Product, Engineering and Solutions to scope simple, pragmatic solutions that work for our clients.
- Make things measurable: define what "good" looks like for a feature, help instrument it, and use qualitative and quantitative signal to iterate β not just ship and hope.
- Look after the design system: contribute components, patterns and documentation that keep our products consistent as we scale across web and mobile.
- Think from first principles: break problems down, reason about trade-offs, and pick the simplest approach that works.
- Learn in the open: participate in design and code reviews (giving and receiving feedback), pair with teammates, and share what you're learning.
- Own your work: plan your tasks, communicate progress, and follow through to high-quality releases.
YOUR EXPERTISE/
What's important to us:
- A genuine excitement for AI and AI-assisted design β this is a must-have. You're curious about LLMs and actively use (or are eager to use) AI tools, code assistants and AI APIs to move faster, while verifying outputs with testing and sound reasoning.
- Strong core product design craft: interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy and typography. You can take an ambiguous problem to a clean, usable, well-considered interface.
- A portfolio that shows thinking, not just screens: we want to see the problem, the options you considered, what you cut, and what happened after it shipped.
- Comfort with ambiguity in products: you can design for systems that are probabilistic, occasionally wrong, and change underneath you.
- Clear problem-solving: you can break a task down, reason from first principles, and explain trade-offs simply.
- Reliability and follow-through: you meet agreed timelines, communicate early if blocked, and finish well.
- Openness to feedback: you're coachable, curious, and iterate based on what you learn.
- Strong written and verbal communication; you can collaborate well in a remote setting.
- Reliable, consistent internet access for remote work.
What's nice to have:
- Side projects, a small repo, a shipped AI experiment, or a write-up showing how you learn.
- Hands-on experience building with AI tooling β prototyping in v0/Cursor/Claude Code, wiring up an AI API, or building your own agents and automations.
- Enough front-end literacy to prototype or tweak your own work β HTML/CSS, basic TypeScript or React.
- Experience designing for both web and mobile.
- Familiarity with design systems, accessibility standards, or motion and prototyping tools.
- Backgrounds we've seen succeed are varied β self-taught, bootcamp, adjacent disciplines. A design degree is not required.
What Itβs Like To Work Here/
Modern Tools & A Real AI Stack
The latest hardware and professional creative software, plus a properly provisioned AI stack with real access to current tools and agents, supported by our AI Operations team.
Your Methods Can Become How The Team Works
We actively encourage people to bring forward better ways of working. When a method you develop proves itself, you won't just use it quietly: you'll encode it as a skill others can run, teach it to the team, and watch it become the new standard, with your name on it.
Team-Based
You'll work with production managers, creative teams, and account teams across an international, remote-first company of 175+ people. We hire for skill, drive, and authenticity.
Remote-First & Flexible
Fully remote within Tunisia.
Recruitment process/
Apply with your CV or resume. Any work you want to show us? It's optional but would be a bonus! Anything you think might be relevant.
- First interview: you'll meet members of the Storm team via MS Teams so we can get to know each other, understand how you think and work, and answer your questions
- Practical task: if successful, you'll complete a short, time-boxed product design exercise based around a realistic problem. We'll be interested in the decisions you make, the trade-offs you consider, and how you use AI and prototyping tools β not just the final screens
- Final interview: you'll then have a second conversation with a senior member of the team, and that's it
Not sure you tick every box? Apply anyway if this sounds like how you already work. We're more interested in your craft, your judgment, and how you work with AI than in a perfect traditional CV.
